What to wear
When it comes to what to wear, the most important thing is to be yourself. If you have a style that feels like you, wear it, and be comfortable in it. Beyond that, a few things the camera notices before you do.
Neutral or deep colours
Neutral and earthy colours photograph beautifully against Scotland’s landscapes. If you want colour, go deep rather than bright: a dark red or forest green, not a bright red or lime.
Skip the logos
Large logos, busy patterns and neon pull the eye away from you.
Coordinate, don’t match
Outfits that share a palette look better than outfits that twin.
Pack a layer
Scottish weather changes its mind quickly. An extra layer never goes to waste.
Walkable shoes
Some locations are a short walk in. Bring the pretty shoes to change into when we arrive.

What to bring
A small bag covers it.
Water, and lip balm for the wind.
A hairbrush or comb, and a small mirror.
Any props that mean something to you: flowers, a blanket, a bottle of champagne.
Dogs are very welcome on your shoot. Just let us know your furry friend is joining.
These are suggestions, not homework.

Weather
If rain is forecast, don’t worry. Some of Scotland’s most magical photographs are made in mist and light rain.
A waterproof jacket
A small umbrella
Warm layers during colder months
If the weather turns unsafe, high winds or severe rain, we’ll talk about rescheduling.

Don’t worry about posing
Most people tell us they feel awkward in front of a camera. That is completely normal.
We guide you through the whole session with simple prompts and natural poses, so you can relax and enjoy it.
If you have inspiration pictures saved, send them over. We love seeing the vision you have!
